How Do Our Online Auctions Work?
Online auctions at Koppe und Partner follow the same principles as traditional (in-person) auctions.
The only difference is that they take place entirely online. Wines and spirits are appraised by experts before they go under the hammer, their authenticity is checked, and all transactions are secure.
Are the wines in the auctions appraised by experts?
All items sold in our auctions are thoroughly examined by our expert team. Any bottles in poor condition, improperly stored, or counterfeit are excluded. Experts assess fill levels, label and cork conditions (e.g. mold), and the cellar where the bottles were stored.
The wines auctioned come from the cellars of major — both private and professional — collectors, who naturally care about optimal storage conditions.
What fees apply to an auction?
A buyer's premium of 10% incl. VAT (8.4% excl. VAT) is added to the hammer price. €5.00 lot fee, 1% insurance. Shipping and packaging costs are calculated individually.
